Data Domain Leads The European Data Deduplication Adoption Wave

London, UK — May 6, 2008 — Data Domain (Nasdaq: DDUP), the leading provider of deduplication storage systems for disk backup and network-based disaster recovery, today announced results from the TheInfoPro’s Wave 10 European Storage Study that cited Data Domain as the ‘top deduplication vendor in-plan” among IT storage users at European large enterprises. In addition, the new study also revealed that Data Deduplication technology is at the top spot on the TheInfoPro’s European Study Storage Networking and Backup & Recovery Heat Indices, which gauges immediacy of user needs and planned spending for each technology.

The TIP European study also revealed that almost 15% of European organisations have already deployed data deduplication, while 46% are planning to roll out this technology by the end of this year. In addition, the study positioned data deduplication as one of the main enablers of the current trend towards backup strategies redesign thanks to its ability to dramatically enhance the performance of the archiving and replication systems.
