L-SIM version2 maximises Value of BPM projects

Lanner Group, the business process improvement company today announced the launch of L-SIM version 2. The latest version of Lanner’s modular simulation solution enables organisations to extend the value of their business process management (BPM) solutions through simulating their workflow to a superior level. The functionality inherent in L-SIM version 2 also facilitates easy integration into existing BPM suites.

When integrated L-SIM offers organisations extensive insight into any bottlenecks or weaknesses in business processes, thus enabling them to identify and map out the best option in maximising resources and efficiency gains. This is achieved by building a virtual model of an existing or future business process or workflow, such as a company’s customer order fulfilment operation, and invoice processing or payroll systems.

The latest version of L-SIM incorporates messaging and intermediate events, which complete the drive towards the full representation of the BPMN standard. The original L-SIM provided efficient simulation of the core components of BPMN. Additionally L-SIM version 2 has included functionality for calendars, date and times, and organisation charts. This means that Lanner’s partners in BPM can easily simulate their business process models or workflow definitions prior to implementation, providing the capability to reduce risk and get it right first time.

This new version of L-SIM is incorporated in the latest IDS Scheer ARIS release 7.1 and is available for Lanner’s other partners which include Telelogic and PNMSoft both of whom use L-SIM in their BPM suites.

Karl Wagner of IDS Scheer comments; “Lanner’s L-SIM simulation technology has been a pivotal component to our ARIS software, the latest developments support our strategy which helps our customers improve their business performance.

“The new functionality will go one step further by offering the ultimate in business process simulation capabilities, and the addition of intermediate events and messages will offer deeper functionality which will provide our customers with even greater benefits.”

Geoff Hook, BPM Solutions Director for Lanner, comments:
“The value of simulation in achieving best practice BPM is becoming more and more recognised. BPM practices constantly evolve, so it is important that we are able to offer partners the very best simulation software to enhance their BPM propositions to customers and equip them with innovative solutions which enable them to thrive in today’s fast-paced markets.”
